Magnificent , This carpet bag still has the original key and lock!~ This bag is made using a heavy wool , mohair ? I date this textile to around 1870-1890 ....wonderful muted tones. The wear on the handle is precious , all of the wool tufting is worn where the item was used and carried. The wool is also worn where the woman would have used the key to the lock ~ Such an honest textile, I simply adore it ~ This bag is lined in a warm toned cotton ~ an historical textile, ready to be used or cherished in any collectors collection! ~*~
MEASUREMENTS: This carpet bag measures about 15 inches wide and about 12 inches long ( not including the handle )
