Common Problems

Power tripping when the heater is enabled? Typically indicates an element fault to ground or a dead short, causing the PRCD / GFCI or house breaker to activate for safety.

Slow or No Heat, or never quite reaching the target temperature? A correctly functioning heater should typically increase temperature by approximately 1°C (1.8°F) per hour, depending on ambient conditions. If the unit is slow to heat or fails to reach the set temperature, common causes include a failed heater element, a logic control fault preventing the heater from powering on, or a degraded flow sensor. Rapid Clicking Noise, resembling a pinball machine, when the heater is enabled typically indicates a fault with the water flow detection assembly. The magnetic paddle fails to actuate the sensor, preventing the logic controller from enabling the heater elements. This is commonly caused by degradation or weakening of the flow paddle magnet, restricted water flow due to a clogged filter, or limescale accumulation within the heater assembly. In most cases, replacing the heater assembly will resolve the issues.

Leaking from the assembly? Commonly caused by perished or chemically degraded seals, especially when exposed to chlorinated water over long periods.

Grey Blue Grit deposits? This is typically caused by a combination of limescale and copper sulphate based algicide having a galvanic reaction with the aluminium heater. Heaters showing this level of degradation should be replaced. To prevent this from reoccurring, we would recommend managing the use of algicide, changing the spa water every 8-12 weeks and routine descaling of the pump. Suitable descaling attachments and service components are available in our other listings.

E01 Error usually indicates that the flow sensor’s magnetic paddle is stuck in the raised position, or that the reed switch has failed in a permanently closed state. In many cases, backwashing the pump or applying firm percussive maintenance (a decisive thump to the housing) will free the paddle and clear the fault. If the error persists, replacing the heater assembly is typically the most reliable long term solution.

E02 Error occurring despite the filter pump operating and a clean or newly fitted filter typically indicates a failure of the flow sensor paddle. Over time, the magnet within the paddle can degrade, reducing its ability to reliably trigger the sensor. As a result, the system incorrectly detects insufficient water flow and shuts down the pump, generating the E02 error. Replacing the heater assembly will generally resolve this issue by restoring proper flow detection.

E03, E04, and E05 Errors all relate to the temperature sensor. E03 is triggered when the temperature falls below 4°C, E04 when it exceeds 40°C, and E05 when the sensor is not detected or is operating outside its expected range. If any of these errors occur under normal temperature conditions, it typically indicates a faulty sensor. In such cases, replacing the temperature sensor should resolve the issue; please refer to our other listings for a suitable replacement.

E08 Error relate to the thermal cut-out sensor and should only occur when the water temperature within the heater manifold exceeds 55°C. This condition is most commonly caused by limescale buildup restricting water flow through the heater assembly, leading to localised overheating. If the error persists after a reset, or occurs when the actual water temperature is well below 40°C, it typically indicates a faulty sensor. In such cases, replacing the sensor should resolve the issue; please refer to our other listings for a suitable replacement.

This part is only compatible with newer style AirJet pumps manufactured between 2020 and 2025 that feature a ‘reset’ button on the side of the casing. Specifically model numbers:

AirJet pumps without a ‘reset’ button use a different heater design and are not compatible with this part. If you’re unsure, we’re happy to confirm compatibility before you purchase so you can order with confidence.

Important: This device is designed to operate at 220–240 VAC and is not suitable for use on 110–120V AC systems. The rated operating voltage of your unit is stated on the silver data plate affixed to the pump case, please verify this before purchase.

UK - Orders are despatched, free of charge, via Royal Mail 48. Delivery time is usually between 1 - 3 working days from despatch. If you require a faster service, the option to upgrade to Royal Mail Special Delivery is available at checkout.

WORLDWIDE - Orders are despatched via Royal Mail International Tracked. The cost of this is based on weight and calculated at checkout. Delivery time varies upon destination and customs clearance, but is usually between 5 - 14 working days from despatch. Please be aware that all applicable import duties, taxes and customs charges remain the responsibility of the buyer.
