Usage Instructions:
Intended Use: For application to all types of new bare wood or that has been stripped. Suitable for interior and exterior use. The dye must be over-coated/sealed. Preparation: Wood must be clean, dry and free of wax, previous coatings and contaminants. Application: Using a rag or brush, apply an even coat and wipe off any excess. The result will be much darker on softwoods than on hardwoods.

For a lighter shade, dilute with White Spirit, 2 parts dye to 1 part White Spirit. Before use check that the colour is what is required . Coats: Usually 1 application is sufficient, or 2 for a darker colour.

Drying Time: A few hours under good conditions, but will depend on ambient temperature, humidity and the absorbency of the wood. Re-coating Time: 6-8 hours typically, but preferably overnight if applying acrylic water-based varnishes. Application Temp: Ideally 15-25°C. Coverage: Up to 24 sq.m per litre, per coat, depending on the absorbency of the wood.

Compatibility: Can be used under all Rustins wood finishes, such as Quick Drying Varnish, Polyurethane Varnish, Plastic Coating, Danish Oil, Teak Oil, French Polish/Shellac. It can be mixed with Rustin’s Polyurethane Varnish, Danish Oil and Teak Oil at up to 20%. However, the best result is achieved by application of dye to bare wood. Settlement: STIR WELL AND SHAKE WELL BEFORE USE.
