Rare ancient Indonesian Jatim mosaic glass bead which dates approximately to 10th -12th century AD or quite possibly even earlier 600 to 900 AD which was traded into Africa. Sometimes Jatim beads are mistakenly called Majapahit beads. This ancient Indonesian Jatim bead measures 20.12mm long by 20.71mm wide and is in great rustic condition with a lot of surface wear. Ancient Jatim glass beads are polychromatic and where produced in Java, Indonesia from 900 A.D. and earlier. These beads show the influence of Roman and Middle Eastern beadmaking techniques that pre-date Islam.
