“Since 1906, the Standard Working Tool of Editors, Authors, Advertisers, Typographers, Proofreaders, and Printers.”
This book is NOT a “how to write” book. Rather, it is a book used to produce consistent style when editing a final piece of writing. please note that this edition dates from 1972 and is useful in context of writing of that time. This is a valuable reference item for writers that are interested in the editorial conventions of the time. This edition would be considered out-of-date/inappropriate for current usage.
Book cover is clean and bright, with gold imprint on spine and light orange text on dark orange cover. This is the University of Chicago Press Style manual, which was used to edit all publications by the University. Other organizations (educational and media) also used the manual when editing content.
Binding is tight (appears book was merely lightly used for reference). Hinges and joints are intact. Pages tanned due to age. No pages torn or creased; no writing, highlighting, annotations or marks of any kind in book.
Dust jacket has crinkles along edges and is unclipped. Jacket is faded due to age.
