Flash Gordon - Souvenir Movie Program - Published in 1980 by Famous Film Productions - Softcover (9" x 12") - 20 pages - EXCELLENT condition. Based on Alex Raymond's King Features Syndicate, Inc. comic strip, this is an outstanding movie program with scenes from the 1980 Flash Gordon movie. Flash Gordon conquered virtually all mediums. Originally a super popular comic strip by the one and only Alex Raymond, Flash Gordon came to the screen in the 1930s in several serials starring Buster Crabbe. Flash Gordon also successfully appeared in comic books, had his own radio show in the 1940s, and television show in the 1950s. This excellent film starred Sam Jones as Flash Gordon, Max Von Sydow as Ming the Merciless, Melody Anderson as Dale Arden, Topol as Dr. Zarkov, Timothy Dalton as Prince Vultan and, among others, a young Robbie Coltrane in an unnamed part. The screenplay was written by Lorenzo Semple, Jr. (of the Batman TV show fame) and produced by Dino De Laurentiis ("King Kong" 1976, among other great films). The music was composed and performed by Queen. This great program includes photos of the cast, color and black & white stills from the film, an excellent article on Alex Raymond, the creator of Flash Gordon, some outstanding vintage Alex Raymond Flash Gordon artwork, production information, cast and crew lists and bios and much more. There is only some very minor edge wear, but this movie program is still in EXCELLENT condition. No collection of Flash Gordon items is complete without this great program.
