About the artist: Born Peyton Cole Hedgeman, he changed his name to Palmer C. Hayden after World War I. Hayden is known for his seascapes, realistic depictions of folklore, and for painting Black historical events.

  • The actual work of art is watercolor on paper that measures 10 x 20 1/2"
  • This custom framed piece is a semi-gloss bookplate print that 
  • The actual image measures approximately 4¼" x 6¾ "
  • The image is mounted on acid-free cardstock to prevent creasing and for added stability.
  • Mat: Ivory with white bevel
  • The recycled frame measures 8 x 10" and is coated with a light pecan glossy finish
  • The entire piece is encased in clear glass on the front side and a dust cover on the back
  • This work will be carefully packaged and arrive in ready-to-hang condition
  • Photos are the actual piece for sale

Framer's Note: I re-use materials (like custom frames, out-of-print calendars, art prints, bookplates, etc.) to create beautiful custom-framed, one-of-a-kind pieces. Whatever materials I use may not be cosmetically perfect, but pretty close to perfect.
