This is a Vietnam era HELANTISUBRON SIX (HS-6) aka Raunchy Redskins patch being offered here. This is a classic mid 1960's Japanese made embroidered on twill cut edge patch with a cheese cloth backing.

During the Vietnam War these guys were among the the helicopter squadrons that worked off of the Gulf of Tonkin & stayed busy picking up downed fliers during my late father's combat deployments.  Note, taken in January of 1968 from the departing HS-6 helicopter after having dropped off that downed aviator being hauled away in the stretcher. That particular pic was taken on the deck of the (CVA-34) USS Oriskany in January of 1968. My father is seen in the back ground and wing man of the just rescued aviator. That pic was found on the HS-6 website is not included with this sale.

With the exception of my father's aviation career related patches I'm selling off my original USN A-4 Skyhawk squadron patch collection. This particular patch happens to be a duplicate or I would not be parting with it otherwise. So please see my other squadron patches that have listed this week.

S&H via USPS with insurance.
