Bio:

Itzchak Tarkay was known for his Post-Impressionist portraits done in watercolor and acrylic. Influenced by the work of both Henri Matisse and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Tarkay's expressive, use of color lent a dream-like quality to his serigraphs, prints, and paintings of female socialites, parlors, terraces, and quiet cafés. His art has been featured in more than 50 exhibitions around the world. Tarkay passed away in 2012, leaving behind a legacy. We were honored to meet Tarkay in our gallery during our one-man exhibition with The artist in the 1900s. The original being sold was purchased in the 1900s. It is part of the gallery’s private collection.
