In the 1930s radios used fabric ribbons in the mechanics to change the stations. The ribbons were different based on the radio (model or age). The ‘serviceman’ (as stated on the cover of the box) needed access to an assorted selection of ribbons. The J F D company from Brooklyn New York (still in business today) supplied these in a heavy metal box.
The box is 6 inches by 12 ¼ inches and 4 ¼ inches deep. The cover is hinged on the top side and opens easily. The box is free of dents and rust. The box is in original condition, no work has been done on the finish. I purchased radio repair equipment in about 1960 from the local serviceman in Unity Wisconsin where I lived on a farm. It has been owned by me for more than 60years. The box has had 2 owners, is in very good condition, and is looking for a new home.
