Soviet and Russian painter, graphic artist, illustrator, poster artist.

Svetlana Kovalskaya is the wife of the famous illustrator Leonid Viktorovich Vladimirsky. She graduated from the art department of the Moscow Technological Institute of Local Industry. For many years she worked at the enterprises of the Art Fund of the RSFSR. Participated in exhibitions organized in our country and abroad. Known for her book illustrations, for example, for Andersen's book Thumbelina. She made political and social posters, addressed the themes of agriculture, school life and pioneering. Collaborated with the publishing house "Poster"; author of posters: "Let's increase the productivity of farms in the Non-Black Earth Region"! (1975), "Let's increase the glory of northern silk - Russian linen!" (1975), "Lenin's precepts are true!" (1976), “Only those who love work are called Octobrists!” (1976), "Change, change is coming!" (1978), "Peace to your house" (1970-80s), "I will be like a mother!" (1982), "Peace to the children of all the earth!" (1983), "Hello, labor summer!" (1984).

The circulation posters of S. A. Kovalskaya are in the Astrakhan State United Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve (AMZ), the Vologda State Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve (VOKM), the Nevyansk State Historical and Architectural Museum (NGIAM), private Russian collections.
