This is a beautifully made metal statue of a sailboat mounted on imported onyx.

It has a horizontal boat shaped piece of metal that is mounted to the base, a mainsail and a jib sail or headsail. Both sales are in the sailing position suggesting that they are moving with the wind. Please note I am not a sailor and do not know much about sailing however I believe the jib, or headsail has pivoted making it easier for the boat to move through the wind. This boat also has a flag at the top which is also moving in the wind which I believe is called a Burgee and is used to communicate to other sailors, I am not sure the meaning of this flag, but it is long and triangular.

The original tag also comes with this boat, and it says the following:

"This design is from the collection of sculpture created by California artists John & Don DeMott. Each design is delicately hand fashioned under the supervision of the artists. It is made of fine quality brass, copper and steel and is mounted on imported onyx.

A lacquer coating protects your sculpture from tarnishing. To care for it, gently clean with a soft dry cloth. Bent pieces may be gently and carefully straightened.

Metal sculpture by DeMott ...
A unique gift for someone special.

Designed and crafted in California by De Mott."

The back of the tag says DG130 and has the copyright mark De Mott Corporation 1975
De Mott Corporation, Chatsworth, CA

It is approximately 8" tall 5.5" long.

It is in great shape with a bit of vintage wear. Please look at all the pictures as they are part of the description.
