Allows standard oil filters to mount to Suzukis.

The Suzuki oil filter attaches onto a fitting that has proprietary M20x1.0 threads. You are forced by Suzuki's specification to buy and use expensive and junky oil filters. There's now an alternative, you can buy an adapter that allows you to use M20x1.5 filters including advanced micro-fiber PL14610, M1-110 or Bosch 3323 filters; the same filters used by Honda, Yamaha, and Kawasaki bikes.

We sell two adapters:
Adapter A, for the Suzuki 2012 and newer VStrom and SV650 and all Bergman. Replaces stock part number 16591-02F00
Adapter B, for the Suzuki 2011 and older VStrom and SV650 and all other bikes. See table below. Replaces stock part number 16591-06B01

To install,

1. Drain your engine oil.
2. Remove and discard your oil filter.
3. Remove the fitting sticking out of the engine block to which the oil filter screwed on.
   • For adapter A, use a 30mm wrench.
   • For adapter B, use a pipe wrench or an easy-out like the Hanson 53212, available on Ebay for about $6.
4. Screw on a Calsci adapter in its place. Our adapters screw on with a hex wrench.
5. Attach any oil filter which fits a modern Honda, Kawasaki or Yamaha. We recommend the Pure One PL14610, or the Mobil-1 M1-110, or the Bosch 3323.
6. Fill your engine with a good synthetic oil. We recommend Chevron or Rotella or Mobil-1 5w-40 diesel truck oil.
