Vegetable Radish - Munchen Bier - Kings Seeds

Munchen Bier is an unusual radish grown for its seed pods. The plants should be about 6-8cm apart and they quickly go up to flower and produce seed pods which should be used when green and crisp and can be snapped easily. They are really tasty raw in salads or in a stir-fry, and produce a delicious spicy flavour.

When to Sow: April to June

Where to Sow: Sow thinly in shallow drills 1.5cm (1/2in) deep with 15-30cm (6-12in) between the rows. During hot weather water the base of the seed drills first before sowing seeds and covering with dry soil.

What to do Next: Radish plants do not require transplanting and if sown carefully , thinning is not necessary. Sow a few seeds in any spare areas for a quick crop.

Harvest: July to September
