This is a very good example of the rare find of 2008. The rare copper zinc phosphate, veszelyite, was found on the specimens of hemimorphite that originated from the Laochang Mine. The discovery was made after the specimens had arrived at a major mineral show. Dealers quickly bought them up. A small number of them were found to have malachite on the hemimorphite.
This small cabinet specimen has gorgeous botryoidal coverage of bright blue hemimorphite with several formations of veszelyite on the display side. The bottom side has good coverage of the rare veszelyite. With a 10x loupe you can see beautiful details of both minerals all over the specimen.
