HURST FAMILY Ribbon of Love CD pop covers Fire & Rain 90s bluegrass River Jordan
This is “Ribbon of Love,” by The Hurst Family, a previously-owned CD manufactured independently in the 1990s. It has all the artwork included and plays through perfectly (double-checked).
Toledo native Jim Hurst isn't widely known to those outside bluegrass music, but he is recognized as one of the best guitarists in bluegrass. He played guitar for both Trisha Yearwood and Holly Dunn and performed on the Grand Ole Opry. From 1995 to 1997, he played with bluegrass veteran Claire Lynch and her Front Porch String Band. Here, he performs with his brothers, Larry and Alvie. Of note, this CD includes a home recording from 1964 of their father performing “Golden River.” Hurst and his brothers dubbed in their voices for background harmony. The CD also includes the recording of a song that Hurst's sisters Rosetta Sparks and Alma Berry performed at their home in 1964. Track-listing:
