Carded Core Wool is ideal to create the basic shape for a 3D needle projects such as animals.   This is a natural wool fibre which needle felts much quicker than the softer Merino rovings so it is used for the basic shape.   The good bit is then finishing off your project by added the dyed merino wools to the surface.   Whilst being quicker to form the base with Core Wool it is also more economical than using your more expensive dyed wools for the shape.   This core wool  contains very little vegetable matter though a little can occur and as it has only gone through the washing process it can still smell 'woolly'!   Core wool can also be used as stuffing, for example teddy bears etc.   The additional photos show a couple of simple examples made with the natural white core wool and then finished with the dyed Merino Wool.  Choice of colour and weight.
Depending on the quantity this is shipped vacuum packed by Royal Mail large letter or Hermes parcel rate.    If it is vacuum packed this does not damage the fibres as they spring back to life once released from the packing.
