Publisher: Longman, Rees, Orme, Brown and Green and Longman, 1833 first edition. Bound in full red morocco leather with titles in gilt on the spine and gilt garland and borders in blind on the top board. All edges gilt. Very good condition, with some rubbing and light marks to the leather, browning to the frontispiece and the engraved title page, other plates with variable browning due to the tissue guards. Text pages with occasional spots, but mainly clean and bright.
Illustrated with a frontispiece, engraved title page vignette and 24 other plates, as called for, all with tissue guards. The plates are very finely engraved. The text consists of accounts of travelling across Europe, and provide a vivid picture of the times, and there is an intriguing ghost story.
