 How to Prevent High-Pressure Fuel Pump Failure

1) Quality Fuel

Ensure you always stick to name brands of quality fuel.

2) Full Tank

Try to never run your tank below half.

3) Time your Refills

When heading to the pumps, ensure some time has elapsed since the station’s last fuel delivery.

 

 

 High Pressure Fuel Pump Installation Tips

I.

Disconnect Battery

Remove the air box

Clear the space around the HPFP

Remove the fuel line and the other fuel line

Remove the screws holding the HPFP in place

Disconnect the electrical plug on the bottom of the HPFP

 

II.

Remove the HPFP

Align the new HPFP

Re-attach the fuel lines & electrical pre-installation

Align the new HPFP against the engine

Hand tighten the screws back in place connecting the HPFP back into place.

Torque the fuel line nut

 

III.

Re-assemble anything you changed around the HPFP to get access to it

Re-attach the air box

Survey your work to make sure it's all done

Re-attach the battery
