When to sow in Australia: Spring and Autumn

Germination : 10-15 days

Days to maturity: 2 months

Soil: moist and well drained

Harvest: When the plant reaches up to 20cm tall

Tong Ho is an easy and weather tolerant plant, which prefers coolish conditions. However, the optimal growth temperature is around 20 degrees. Below 12 and over 29 degrees , it grows slowly and poorly.

When it is flowering or has a sign of flowering, the leaves and stems become bitter and fibrous.

You may harvest more than one time if you keep at least 4 leaves and cut the stem 2 to 3cm above the leaves, and let it grow for another one or two months.
