This Australian opal doublet comes directly from the opal mines of Australia in NSW, South Australia or Central Queensland
Doublet opals consist of 2 layers, a thin slice of opal and a black backing. The slice of opal is cemented to the backing in order to enhance the colour.
Cleaning your Opals:
Taking care of opals is easy. Doublets may be wiped with a damp, soft cloth and soapy water. They should never be soaked or immersed. Avoid bleach, chemicals and cleaners.
