Publisher: Simms and M'Intyre, London and Belfast, 1851. Bound in half leather over marbled boards with titles in gilt on the spine. Good condition, in a rubbed and worn binding, with losses to the head and foot of the spine. Corners bumped with losses. Some light scattered foxing and light marks throughout, but mainly clean. Three titles bound as one.
Griffin (1803-1840) was a novelist, poet and playwright. The Collegian was based on a murder trial he reported on when working as a journalist, and it was adapted for the stage as 'The Coleen Bawn" by Dion Boucicault. In this volume an account of the original story is included at the end of the book.
