A rare antique scalloped footed teacup and saucer by Royal Paragon, By Appointment, Made In England, Reg.

Icy yellow background with brighter yellow handpainted leaves and deep orange handpainted berries.

The scalloped saucer has imprinted fluting and a leaf spray design in the china. The cup is also scalloped at the top with a soft "twisted" design in the cup itself. The handle is a pretty scroll design.

The black backstamp is the original stamp when Paragon added "Royal" to the backstamp. From what I have read it was added in the late 1920's but had to be removed due to the British laws for Royalty "By Appointment" stamps. They were not allowed to have "By Appointment and "Royal" in the same stamp. I believe it was removed by 1934. This is not a reproduction backstamp.

Saucer: 5 1/2" across
Cup Across the Top: 3 1/2" without handle
Cup Height: 3"
