FERRARI

Ferrari is probably the most famous name in racing, but as a marque

it only appeared in the 1940s, as Enzo Ferrari, its creator, enjoyed

a successful career in motor racing long before he set up his own

company. “Racing Through Time”, looks at the famous moments from

Ferrari’s illustrious racing history, from Enzo Ferrari’s early career and

the origins of team Ferrari, all the way to their recent successes with

Michael Schumacher at the helm.

LOTUS

The story of Lotus is the story of one man: Colin Chapman. Chapman’s

influence on the world of motor racing was immense, and his legacy

as a uniquely talented engineer, designer, entrepreneur and enthusiast

still lives on today. Colin Chapman had the determination to steer Lotus

from a North London back yard to Formula One World Championship

success. In “Racing Through Time – Lotus”, we speak to those who

knew Colin Chapman best.

GREAT CIRCUITS

THE NURBURGRING: Not known for a particular race - unlike Le Mans,

Indianapolis or Monaco – the Nurburgring is famous simply because it is

the most challenging circuit ever built!

SILVERSTONE: Silverstone is not set in majestic parklands or near anexotic beach; it is a windy former air-field in the midlands of England.

Yet, it is the very heartland of motor racing and is the central point for

most of the teams in Grand Prix racing.

MONACO: The Monaco Grand Prix is the most famous race of them all

and always provides the driver a tough race around the extremely tight

circuit. Now the only “round the houses” circuit left on the Formula One

calendar, “Racing Through Time charts all the action from the track’s

illustrious past.

HISTORY OF THE GRAND PRIX

From the origins of motor racing and the UK’s first purpose built race track

at Brooklands, all the way through to the advent of commercial advertising,

computer aided technological advancements and the Formula One World

Championship that we all know and love today, “Racing through Time – The

History of Grand Prix Racing” is a must-have for all fans of motor racing.

GRAND PRIX LEGENDS: AYRTON SENNA

Ayrton Senna was born into a wealthy Brazilian family. He competed in

161 Grand Prix over ten years. And he took 64 Pole Positions, winning

a massive 41 of them. He has been described as being charismatic,

single-minded, and totally focused, as well as lauded by his peers as “an

extraordinary driver, and an extraordinary person”. Aryton Senna was the

idol for millions of Formula One fans.
