Offering a vintage pair of African, carved wood or gourd, dance ceremony rattles.

The larger one measures 13.5" in length. The rattle is fully etched, has the seeds inside, and the end is tied with what I think are plants fibers whose tips were dipped in deep red dye.

The smaller one measures 11" in length. The rattle makes no sound but the body is fully etched and carved out in a series of lines.

Both have simple wood stick handles.
