Also called Lion of Buddha, seen as the protector of Buddhist Dharma. The Foo Dog appears in tattoo designs today. The combination of both lion/dog features with claws out & teeth showing, stalking imaginary demons. Regal beasts became guardians at the gates of emperors. They stood guard at tombs & government buildings to frighten away evil spirits.
