You are buying "one" Item with the appropriate # Number.
Liquid Test for Alkalinity (No shelf life due to being a liquid test kit). This is neither food nor drink so sell by date no problem. As these have gone past there sell by date of 2017 we are putting 2 Alkalinity test kits in with every purchase of this item. How important are some of these levels?
First of all these test should be done on all/any pools or tubs.

If you require help with your pools alkalinity levels please go to this link: - CLICK What is KH? KH, also known as Total Alkalinity or Carbonate Hardness is a measure of the buffering capacity of the water in your swimming pool. The buffering capacity refers to how well the swimming pool can resist changes in pH. How do I do the test? Ensure the test tube is clean. Take a 5 ml sample of pool water into the test tube, to the first mark on the test tube (approx. halfway). Take the KH reagent and add one drop, mix and the water sample should turn pale blue. Keep adding drops, one by one (remember to count the drops!), mixing between drops, until the blue colour turns to yellow. The number of drops needed to bring a the colour change is equal to the KH value in °dH. Should the first drop of reagent turn the sample yellow then the KH value is below 1 °dH. 1 °dH = 17.8ppm. Why do we need to test the pool for alkalinity? PROBLEMS RESULTING FROM HIGH ALKALINITY: If the Alkalinity of your pool is high, these problems will occur:
PROBLEMS RESULTING FROM LOW ALKALINITY: If the Alkalinity of your pool is too low, these problems will occur:• Dissolved metallic parts of your pool (walls, floor, hand rails, ladders, light fixtures, and equipment). This could even lead to discoloured water or stains on the pool walls and floor.
Minimizes the effectiveness of chlorine (or its alternative).• Eye and skin irritation. #ALK - Alkalinity Test Kit

Water balancing troubleshooting chart: - CLICK What is GH? General Hardness is a measure of the sum total of minerals dissolved in the water. Water can be either ‘soft’ or ‘hard’ depending on the amount of dissolved minerals, (the more minerals the greater the hardness). How do I do the test? Ensure the test tube is clean. Take a 5 ml sample of pool water into the test tube to the first mark on the test tube (approx. halfway). Take the GH A reagent and add two drops. Mix and the water sample should turn dark pink. Add one drop of GH B and mix. Keep adding drops one by one (remember to count the drops!), mixing between drops, until the dark pink colour turns to blue. The number of drops needed to bring about the colour change is equal to the GH value in °dH. Should the first drop of GH B reagent turn the sample blue then the GH value is below 1°dH. 1°dH = 17.8ppm. Why do we need to test for this balance?
PROBLEMS RESULTING FROM LOW HARDNESS LEVELS: If the Hardness of your pool is too low, these problems will occur:•
If these, or any other, problems result due to low Hardness, you must raise the Hardness level immediately, using Calcium Chloride (which is typically packaged and sold as "Hardness Increaser," "Hardness Up," or Hardness Plus"). PROBLEMS RESULTING FROM HIGH HARDNESS LEVELS: If the Hardness level of your pool is high, these problems will occur:•
