Allen Wayne Norris played minor league baseball for Brooklyn Dodgers & Los Angeles Dodgers minor league affiliates between 1956 and 1964.

J.D. McCarthy was a sports photographer based in Michigan/Detroit who specialized in player portraits and postcards from the late 1940s through the 1980s. McCarthy photographed hundreds of major and minor league baseball and hockey players, and other athletes. McCarthy sold bulk photo postcards directly to players, who used them to answer fan mail and autograph requests.

This printing plate measures 5-1/2"x3-1/2" and is in excellent condition. There are no visible scratches or imperfections on the plate surface. The metal photographic plate is mounted on a wooden block of the same size which is approximately 3/4" thick. The name NORRIS is written in marker on the bottom edge of the block and the number 500 is written in marker in the upper right corner of the back. Images are of the actual item being offered.

I assume there would be legal implications (copyright, etc.) for using the plate block to reproduce postcards, but the printing plate block itself is an interesting and unique baseball collectible.

Happy to combine shipping on auctions that end the same day.
