The Standard Life Assurance Company – Established 1925 – A Mutual Office, 1950s Sign in Frame.
A lovely example of a wonderfully striking Sign that once lived in an office – a branch off The Standard Life Assurance Company – Established 1835. It looks to date from around the 1950s. Moulded in sturdy blue plastic and set in a 15½” x 11¾” wooden frame that has a wooden back panel. The lion and the pole and banner are painted bright red. The words The Standard and ‘Yours for Life’ are gold and the rest of the wording – Life Assurance Company Established 1825 – A Mutual Office – is all white. A couple of the letters have slight rubs but the sign is in wonderful condition – at around 70 years of age. It looks to date from the 1950s. On the back there is a small metal plaque / plate that reads Manufactured by Carleton Russell Limited, Canal Bank, Bridge Street, Loughborough, Telephone 4683/4.
