( I sold many of these photos from this album earlier this year.)
Vintage WWII1945 photo from the album of a US Navy Signalman stationed at Pearl Harbor.
Many of the images in the album are at Pearl Harbor's Furlong Field, a football stadium. The Army vs Navy Football game was Jan 7, 1945. Looks like they worked there cleaning up after game or as groundkeepers? He was assigned to the Navy Yard Signal Tower at Ford Island, used for Harbor monitoring. Constructed in 1925, the original tower was built to serve as a harbor control tower with an observation deck for monitoring ship movement.
I have started researching the album, but have not figured out the owner's name; many of his buddies are named. I'll list the names as I go through the album..
Albert E Gallo from IL,
M. P. Beatty, from North Platte Nebraska
Willard (Jean) Stradley, 6'1 180 lbs, (from near me, Hamilton, Montana).
From his 2020 obituary: Jean graduated from Hamilton High School in 1943. Jean couldn't wait to join the Navy to serve in World War II. The Navy sent him to the University of Chicago and then assigned to the USS Lexington as a signalman. After a non-combat-related injury, he was transferred to Pearl Harbor to be a signalman for the ships going in and out of the harbor.

When I could, I left the photo on the album paper to preserve what
he wrote. Photo without album paper, I wrote lightly in pencil what he wrote in album. I will show a pic of the back if anything is written on it. I always list the SIZE of the Photo in the condition box.
Does not glow under black light.
