This richly decorated French chalice rests on a polylobed gilt-bronze base. The base and stem feature engraved designs of grape clusters, foliage, and ornamental friezes. Three silvered medallions depict Christ, the Virgin Mary, and Saint Joseph. The gilt-bronze false cup echoes the engraved motifs of the base, while the upper section of the cup is made of silver.
The silver cup bears three hallmarks, including the French Minerva mark. The maker's mark is lozenge-shaped and features two letters separated by a star. The second letter is an "F"; the silversmith has not yet been identified.
This chalice likely dates to the late 19th century. It is in good condition, showing slight signs of use and some localized wear to the gilding. It has not been restored. Only chalice without paten.
