This is a genuine, branded Seiko movement, not a generic unbranded trade equivalent. Crucially, this unit is equipped from the factory with a stark black day wheel assembly, making it the correct historical engine for elite dark-dialled Seiko sports watches where a standard white date window would break the symmetry of the dial design.

The movement powers high-performance sports lines such as the iconic Seiko 5 Sports SRPD79 ''Blackout''. the Prospex Turtle, Seiko Prospex "King Samurai" SRPE35, the Seiko Prospex "Monster" SRPD27.
