Grape Crush & Orange Crush in 10 oz. Coca-Cola Returnable Glass
An incredible cross-collectible pair for Coca-Cola, Crush, and vintage soda advertising collectors. These 10 fl. oz. returnable Coca-Cola glass bottles were misfilled directly on the assembly line with Grape Crush and Orange Crush at the independent bottling plant in Boise, Idaho.
They were pulled directly off the production line in the 1970s by my aunt, who worked at the Boise facility at the time. They have remained factory-sealed and completely unopened in our family for over 50 years.
Bottle Details & Markings:
- Front: Features the clean white 1970s "Coke" logo with dual volume measurements (10 FL. OZ. / 284 ML).
- Back: Features the classic "Coca-Cola" script with Canadian bilingual trade markings (Marque déposée / Trade Mark Reg.). The Orange Crush bottle includes the faint "BOUTEILLE CONSIGNÉE" neck print.
- Caps: Original crown caps intact with minimal age patina. The Grape Crush bottle features its original purple Grape Crush cap; the Orange Crush bottle features its original orange-yellow cap (stamped Evanston, IL).
- Orange Crush Bottle: Stamped Coca-Cola LTD with the Consumers Glass "V" mark and a 1974 date code.
- Grape Crush Bottle: Stamped Coca-Cola LTD with the Montreal plant "M" mark.
Condition Report:
- Seals: Factory sealed / never opened. Full liquid contents inside.
- Glass & Paint: Excellent vintage condition. Applied color labeling (ACL) paint is bold, crisp, and fully intact with no major wear, paint loss, or damaged fonts.
- Contents: The Orange Crush bottle shows natural vintage sediment/settling at the bottom of the fluid, typical for unopened citrus sodas of this age.
- Caps: Solid seal with light, expected age patina.
