Offered here is a pre-1945 construction German
Reichskriegsflagge (Imperial War Flag) which was used by Imperial Germany as it's war ensign from 1903 until the dissolving of the empire after WWI in 1918.
Measuring around 3 feet by 5 feet, this flag is of a course fabric blend variety and the images of the ensign are printed in high quality. Based on the construction of the flag not having any synthetic blends (like most reproductions of this particular flag found today) this likely would have been made prior to the end of World War Two, if not during the First World War period. I purchased this under the impression that it was produced during the First World War period.
This flag is also complete with four, steel-produced attachment loops which have been sewn on along the reenforced edge of the flag. Taking a closer look at that edge, you can also see that this flag was produced to whistand being flown and was reenforced significantly when it was made. There is no evidence of a maker mark along the attachment edge of the flag, and several wear holes can be seen throughout the rest of the flag; see pictures for reference.
All items sold by me have been kept in moth and pet free homes since I have owned them. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this particular lot please reach out and I will get back to you asap.
