Lovers Rock Showcase Jamaica Style is Freddie McGregor’s 1981 roots‑and‑romance album produced by Winston Niney Holness. The record blends soulful lovers rock with deep roots reggae and dub textures, capturing McGregor at a pivotal moment in his career as he moved into wider recognition following the success of Mr McGregor. Niney’s production brings warm basslines, classic dub flourishes and spiritual themes, while McGregor delivers smooth, heartfelt vocals throughout.
