A substantial and exceptionally heavy three-piece set comprising the large footed tureen, removable domed lid and matching circular stand/underplate. Decorated in grey transferware with detailed Canadian landscape scenes inspired by William Henry Bartlett’s Canadian Scenery. Finished with ornate branch-style handles, a sculpted lid finial and remnants of gilt detailing.
The printed “LAKE” bridge backstamp is visible underneath. This pattern was produced in several colours, with the grey version being particularly difficult to find. A beautiful and impressive display piece for a collector of early Staffordshire pottery or antique transferware.
