Impressive large vintage hand-carved wooden eagle sculpture, most likely made in the Ukrainian SSR / USSR period.

This striking decorative composition features a large eagle with fully spread wings standing above a smaller eagle at the base. The sculpture is entirely made of wood and shows detailed hand-carved feather work throughout the wings, body, head and tail.

A particularly interesting feature is the removable wing construction. Both wings are separate pieces and attach to the body using wooden dowel joints. The matching handwritten number “22” can be seen on both wings and on the corresponding mounting areas of the body, most likely an original assembly/fitting number used during production.

The sculpture has a beautiful warm brown, amber and golden wood finish that highlights the carved feather details.

Condition:

Good vintage condition with normal signs of age, handling and storage. There are surface marks, scratches, small finish imperfections and natural age-related wear. The visible lines where the wings meet the body are construction joints, not cracks. Both removable wings and their wooden mounting pins are present.

No maker’s label or signature has been found, therefore the exact workshop, artist and production year cannot be confirmed.

A very impressive large-format piece of vintage Eastern European / Soviet-era wood carving — ideal for a collection, rustic interior, hunting lodge, cabin, office or statement décor.

The sculpture will be shipped with the wings removed and carefully packed separately for safer transportation.
