US 1974-D Washington Quarter VF-35 Exceptionally rare Quarter dollar coin minted in high quantity, approximately 1.8 billion pieces.
Being a circulation coin, it is a widely available coin mixed at the Denver mint but rare to come across a very fine piece with detail still apparent.Many examples will exist in various conditions from circulated to un-circulated and fewer exist in pristine condition due to frequent use in commerce. Very rare 1974 Washington Error Quarter dollar is generally valued at modest face value or well above in its circulated condition at 23-25c.
Average to Medium grade un-circulated examples can command a higher premium amongst collectors, especially exhibiting exceptional luster or part of a medium to high grade set.
The Copper Nickel clad copper version is still a fine circulatory example.

Washington the first American president, facing left is a lasting image on the obverse in dignified left facing profile and is of historical Error value more than numismatic value. Coin and obverse side is not centred over date below or Liberty above.

The reverse includes emblems of a majestic eagle emblematic of freedom and strength displayed with outstretched wings, perched on a collection of arrows and olive branches beneath.
