Here is a Marx 2207 Vintage Rare Pre-Production Nickel Plate Road Boxcar #28127. This Marx Boxcar is a very rare, never released pre-production model with a stamp date of 3-14-1955 from Girard, Pennsylvania. This boxcar is amongst one of Marx's rarest products with a very limited few in circulation today and rarely appearing in markets. This car features a plastic shell, tin-plate chassis, metal couplers, and metal wheels.
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. The lettering on both sides of the shell is partially faded, but is still legible. There are some small spots of glue residue above and under the door guides on both sides of the shell. The wheels show some metal fatigue and a minor discoloration. There are some scratches visible on the inner sides of the step pieces, and throughout the shell, though nothing that is especially damaging to the finish of the paint. This car is in great shape and has held up remarkably well given its age. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is not included.
