Item: Original Vintage WWII / Post-War U.S. Military Aircraft Cockpit Panel Clock (Type A-11 specification / 8-Day mechanical movement) in original bakelite/phenolic rear casing.
Dial & Movement Identifiers:
Dial: Matte black 12-hour cockpit dial marked 8 DAYS below center arbor with luminous stylized arabic numerals (12, 3, 6, 9) and outer minute track.
Hands: Classic arrow skeleton hour/minute hands and long center seconds hand with original aged radium/promethium patina.
Winding Mechanism: Lower left knurled crown stem for winding and setting hands (pull to set).
Case: Standard AN-5743 / MIL-C-3967 4-hole instrument panel mounting flange.
Condition & Testing Notes (Sold AS-IS for Repair / Restoration / Parts):
Movement: Wound fully, but does not run / balance wheel does not oscillate. The mainspring takes tension, and hands adjust smoothly via the pull crown. It will require professional cleaning, degreasing, lubrication, or escapement service to run.
Cosmetics: Dial is in good vintage condition with honest patina and light lacquer checking. Glass lens is intact. Bakelite/composite rear bowl case is complete with slotted access ports and rear case screws.
Bezel: Instrument flange shows honest edge wear and light finish loss typical of cockpit service.
