Drums And Wires marks a pivotal moment in XTC’s evolution, sharpening their angular new‑wave sound into something more rhythmic, inventive and melodically daring. Originally released in 1979, the album introduced a tighter, punchier approach driven by Terry Chambers’ propulsive drumming and Andy Partridge’s wiry songwriting. This 2020 180g remastered reissue brings renewed clarity and depth to one of the band’s most influential records, capturing the energy and experimentation that defined their early era.
