Mardale Men's Windshirt in a Large size. Made in England.
Yes, Mardale built some amazing outdoor apparel, that was all user focused. This windshirt is one of these pieces. It's definitely from the early 1990's and bar the creases is as new as when I bought it way back then.
So well made, great fabrics. It's an early tightly woven microfiber, that folk now know as Pertex.
Boxy cut for sure, as articulation in outdoor garments wasn't a priority back when this was born. Straight, vertical shoulder seams give this impression. The boxy cut prevents the top riding up as much.
Elasticated (lightly) at both hems are other sure signs of it's early 90's age.
There's a very thin, and unaffected PU smear on the inside of he face fabric, which will absolutely keep light precipitation off the wearer. It's worth adding here, that this is a windproof, NOT a waterproof jacket.
Two angled handwarmer pockets exist also, and the photos show the jacket packed away into one of them.
Definitely the most versatile piece of kit in your outdoor apparel armoury. This one just happens to have been built in the UK.
