Product Overview
A replacement composite AV lead for the Sega Dreamcast. The wide moulded connector plugs into the AV socket on the back of the console and the three RCA plugs on the other end go into the matching yellow, red and white sockets on your television — the same arrangement the console originally shipped with.
Composite is the connection almost every owner uses, and it works with any television, monitor, projector, VCR or capture card that has the three coloured RCA sockets. There is nothing to configure and nothing to power. Plug it in and the console outputs picture and stereo sound straight away.
This console also supports VGA and RGB through separate leads and boxes. If you are chasing a sharper picture on a modern display, that is the equipment you want — this is the standard-definition composite lead, which is what the console outputs by default and what most CRT and older flat-panel televisions accept.
The lead is finished in black throughout, with a moulded strain relief where the cable meets each plug so the join is not taking the strain when the cable is pulled. The three RCA heads are colour-coded yellow, red and white to match the sockets they go into, and the console connector carries a raised arrow marking which way up it seats.
