BIOHAZARD: Rose Blank (often rendered as Rose Blanc) is an official Japanese Resident Evil side-story novel written by Tadashi Aizawa—not Ozawa.

• ​Origins: It was a winning entry in Capcom's official "Biohazard Grand Novel Prize" competition in 2001, taking second place and securing a commercial book publication by Dengeki/MediaWorks in March 2002.

• ​Plot: The story centers on Emily Ran, an antibiotic researcher for Umbrella Corporation who investigates an asymptomatic T-virus carrier surviving in the aftermath of the Raccoon City incident.

• ​Themes: It delves into corporate corruption, the development of a T-virus vaccine, and the secret political ties between Umbrella and the U.S. government.

The German edition was translated by Timothy Stahl and published by Panini Books in May 2006 under the title Resident Evil, Bd. 8: Rose Blank.

• ​Series Context: Panini integrated the standalone Japanese side-story directly into their numbered German Resident Evil book collection as Volume 8, alongside S.D. Perry's game adaptations.

• ​Format: It was released as a trade paperback paperback (~272 pages) with custom series cover artwork.

• ​Availability: Like the Japanese original, it was never translated into English, making the German translation one of the few ways Western fans can read the story in a European language.
