Made from solid steel plate during the Victorian period, this impressive safe retains its original polished brass fittings, including the manufacturer's plate, substantial bolt-action-style handle and working external lock with 3 keys. The original escutcheon features sliding plate, the wording "Improved Inviolable Lock", while the bottom surround is stamped "Fire Resisting"

Retaining attractive age- related patina and character. The original hand-painted gold yellow pinstriping and red have been retained. Waxed to provide a natural protective sheen.
Inside, the safe has it's original green painted lining. With Generous room, making it ideal for securely storing documents, deeds, certificates, passports, cash, jewellery and other valuables.
A striking and highly unusual piece of Victorian craftsmanship, this safe would make a fantastic feature in a loft, period or vintage-inspired home and is sure to be a talking point. It could even double as a distinctive coffee table with concealed storage.

This safe was uninstalled from my grandmothers home, interestingly this safe was original to her Victorian house even before she moved in there We are now renovating it to sell, so this treasure needs a new home
