Rare original 1940 press publicity photo from 20th Century Fox for the classic 1940 Will Hay comedy film Where's That Fire? This is one of 128 different original press publicity photos I have listed for this film (218 press photos were produced, many of them remained unpublished). Some of them are specially posed publicity photos rather than scenes directly from the film making them extra special.

**NOTE - DUE TO AGE OF PHOTO AND STORAGE IT IS CURLING ALONG EDGES BUT CAN BE FLATTENED DOWN AGAIN BY PUTTING WEIGHT ON IT FOR A WHILE, OR FRAMING - SEE LAST IMAGE**

This was the last of Will Hay's films with sidekicks Graham Moffatt and Moore Marriott as Albert and Harbottle and his last film for Gainsborough studio before he moved over to Ealing. Despite being made by Gainsborough though it was, unlike the earlier films, distributed by 20th Century Fox which is why it's one of Will's lesser widely known films and the only one not on official commercial DVD, although pirate DVDs can be found and it is on YouTube and Archive.org. 20th Century Fox showed no interest in commercially releasing what they no doubt t saw as some ancient niche British film and that situation hasn't improved since Disney bought Fox, they see no commercial value in it.

Which is a shame as its a little gem and a final hurrah for the trio, with Charles Hawtrey in support again.

Will plays Captain Viking, in charge at a sleepy rural fire station with his staff Albert and Harbottle whose fire appliance is an ancient horse-drawn contraption. Getting lost when called out to a fire its already put out by the time they arrive and the local council give them one last chance to put out a fire or get the sack. A group of criminals see Viking's horse drawn fire appliance in the newspaper and note its similarity to the one still used at the Tower of London and on the pretence of hiring it for a film they take it as part of their entrance and getaway plans to steal the Crown Jewels but our heroes are on their case.
