First edition. The first printing of this reproduction of the original 1948 limited edition, with twenty sonnets by the sixteenth century Spanish poet Luis de Gongora y Argote, each illustrated with a full-page drawing (19 portraits of women and one man) by Picasso. In addition, Picasso’s text. New introduction to this edition by John Russell. Translated by Alan S. Trueblood.
