For your consideration is a unique vintage miniature Chinese enameled open-ended slide scoop.
Shape & Design: Unlike a standard round bowl or a skillet, this piece is shaped like a elongated, open-ended U-shaped trough. One end features a beautifully curled painted metal handle, while the opposite end opens completely flat like a sliding chute or a traditional flour scoop. It sits elevated on three small 3/8-inch peg legs.
Dimensions & Material: • Length: 4 inches long • Height: 1 inch tall • Construction: Molded/stamped cast iron with a vibrant multi-colored champlevé enamel finish.
Color & Condition Details: The outside edge and inside of the trough feature matching designs in rich blues, yellows, oranges, and greens. Because the design was stamped into the metal, the pattern is physically visible on both the interior and exterior walls. The bottom is clearly stamped with the vintage export mark "CHINA."
Collectible Condition: • Features authentic, light "pitting" (tiny bubble holes) in the glass enamel from the traditional kiln-firing process. • The bottom of the legs retain a dark, natural, aged oxidation/black soot common with mid-century cast iron. • No missing lids—this item was manufactured to be completely open-ended.
