King George III Period sterling silver nutmeg grater c1780.  Maker mark for Samuel Meriton III. Egg shape with screw thread cover.  Original owner monogram HS?

 

Marks: maker mark SM (Samuel Meriton II) inside the base.

 

Dimensions: approx 1¾ inches tall.


Weight: 0.49 troy oz (15.2g)

 

The internal grater grill is lacking.  The body has suffered a few shallow dings.  Overall good order.
