Set of 5 Wedgwood Black Basalt Espresso Demitasse Cups & Saucers - MCM - 1952

Here is a RARE & HARD-TO-FIND VINTAGE SET of 5 Wedgwood Basalt Black Espresso / Demitasse Cups and Saucers. These round-shaped cups and saucers with squared handles in a distinctly Mid Century Modern Style are quite striking. 

Such a nice contrast between the Fine Black Basalt with a Matte Finish and the interiors of the cups with a Glossy Finish. 

These Basalt espresso/demitasse cups and saucers are ideal for all occasions and should be hand washed only. Each cup and saucer features a matte black color and is an original production from the 1950s. 

The bottom of each cup is marked "WEDGWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND" and some other production code.

The bottom of each saucer is also marked "WEDGWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND" with one of the saucers bearing the additional date code "52", indicating the production year of 1952.

Note that all the cups and all the saucers are identical to each other, so I believe this is a true set.

These Wedgwood Basalt Espresso/Demitasse Cups and Saucers are in Perfect Condition.  No chips, cracks or hairlines.
